On Thursday 5th April, Year 5 went back in time and became evacuees for the day! We started the day with a visit to the Blitz Café where we were treated to afternoon tea and got to try on different military uniforms and handle antiques – we also listened to Winston Churchill’s speech.
When we got back to school we made Peppermint creams dipped in chocolate and our very own gas mask boxes. We also spent the afternoon practicing our air raid drills and got under the tables in 19 seconds.
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. Staff know how to spot signs of potential risks to pupils’ safety. Leaders know what to do when worried about a pupil. They seek further advice when needed and work well with other agencies
