Key Stage 1 SATs are national statutory tests that are used to understand pupil performance in relation to national expectations and comparisons. They are used alongside the work your child has completed through the year, to inform teachers about what pupils know and can do and how they are progressing at the end of Key Stage 1.
Key Stage 1 tests cover:
- English Reading
- English grammar, punctuation and spelling – Optional
- Maths
Children in Year 2 will take the tests during May, they will be delivered by their class teachers. You’ll be sent the results of your child’s teacher assessments in their end of year school report.
