To launch our topic ‘Ancient Greece’, the Year 3 classes enjoyed a wonderful workshop with History Off The Page. We all dressed up and entered Athens in 400BC. Children learnt about democracy, by being split up into Athenian boys and girls. We voted on the fate of two spies and had a slave auction. In the market place, we spent time making mosaics, painting pottery, carving soap and writing on wax tablets, whilst many poorly folk visited the herbal stall for sickness remedies. After lunch, we entertained each other with song, dance, some theatre and a lovely Greek feast! What a day!!!
We can’t wait to find out more in our lessons.
