Year 2 had a fantastic Great Fire of London Day, everyone dressed up in Tudor clothes and experienced life as it would have been in London in 1666. All of the children had the opportunity to try lots of jobs and learn skills used in Tudor times such as a being a candle maker, baker, perfumer, weaver, seamstress, metal worker and leather worker - it was great fun! Everyone was impressed with their knowlegde of the Great Fire of London and how they were able to help to create a timeline of events. We talked about Samuel Pepys and how his diary tells about the events. In the afternoon we searched through remains from The Great Fire and found artefacts used in 1666. The children have loved learning about The Great Fire of London and hopefully have been sharing all their learning at home.
