Year 2 had a fantastic time on their visit to Desborough Fire Station. We were a bit late leaving school as the crew had a call out but luckily it wasn't serious and they were back at the station ready for when we arrived. All of the children really impressed the firefighters with their knowledge of The Great Fire of London and everyone loved having a go with the fire hose, aiming water at the training tower and learning how to stand to attention and at ease. Back at school we have all made fire safety posters learning what to do in an emergency and the children have been asked to check if they have smoke detectors in their houses.
