Mary Berry eat your heart out!! There are 48 Loatlands Year 1 children hot on your heels!

We spent Friday afternoon baking (and eating) the most wonderfully light and fluffy fairy cakes. Sorry grown ups.....they smelt so delicious we just had to eat them before hometime - and you have to admit fairy cakes are just scrumptious when they are still warm from the oven.

We spent the afternoon, weighing, measuring, mixing and baking. The learning was fantastic...lots of maths, physical skills and teamwork was required and year 1 certainly rose to the challenge.

We're sorry we couldn't save you any of the cakes but here are some photos for you to feast your eyes on instead!

We are hoping to do some more cooking very soon as it was a fab afternoon.
